We have always had a good reputation for our care of children and believe our small numbers of children help nurture children
There are comfy corners and natural calming colours, natural fabrics and furnishings which enhance the relaxing feel of the nursery.
We have home cooked food and are open to menu ideas from parents.
On our EYFS observations and assessments of children the Ferre Laevers Leuven wellbeing scales are also used, which helps us know how children are for example not feeling 100% or sad or happy.
We work closely with parents so you feel you have a say in how our nursery operates on a day to day basis.
Eco
We are working on our Eco ethos and will be working on the following projects:
Recycling and reusing
Organic vegetable plot including the Apple tree for baking pies
Composting for our vegetable plot, tree feeding and resale
Bog garden to encourage wildlife
Bird feeders and bird shelters
Walking incentives – we hope to encourage our parents and children to walk or cycle to the nursery.
Our name Songbirds also ties in nicely with the eco ethos and each room is named after a different Songbird.
